THERAPY FOR THERAPISTS

& THERAPISTS-IN-TRAINING

Many therapists find it challenging to find a therapist who is comfortable providing therapy for fellow therapists. I love working with other therapists (of all licensure types and levels, including students), and warmly welcome you as a client if you’re a fellow mental health professional. I also have a very flexible fee scale for students in training to become mental health professionals, and am happy to offer therapy to you as well!

I am happy to provide Pay-What-You-Can consultations for colleagues within my particular knowledge and expertise areas, including:

  • implementation of a Pay What You Can (PWYC) fee model in private practice

  • starting a private practice based in heart and values/personal ethics

  • the Emotional Support Animal evaluation process

  • neglect trauma and Childhood Emotional Neglect

  • stepparenting concerns

Please contact me directly by email to discuss further.

SUPERVISION FOR ASSOCIATE THERAPISTS

I am more than happy to discuss the possibility of supervision for associate therapists who may be in need of extra supervision coverage for their licensure process.

I regret that I am unable to offer any associateships through my private practice, simply due to lack of time/energy/spoons, but I thank you so much for your interest.

Fees for Services

THERAPY & Consultation

My current standard (or maximum) rate is $175 per 50-minute session.

Sliding scale, lower-fee, or what I call Pay What You Can fees are always available. It is a core value of mine to directly support accessible therapy for all, and especially to support people experiencing systemic oppression. In cases where we both agree we are a good client-therapist fit, but my standard rate is out of financial capacity, I am generally able to offer to meet you where you are in ability to pay. I do not require any financial documentation from you, and we will handle all discussion of fees with just a human-to-human conversation. Lowest fee services are intentionally reserved for people with multiple marginalized identities.

If I may not be the right therapist for you, if my practice is full, and/or if I am unable to accommodate a manageable sliding scale fee for you, I am happy to help you to locate other resources for affordable services.

Insurance – I am not currently on any insurance panels, but can provide detailed statements/superbills for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement for out-of-network services with your PPO insurance. Please note that using superbills requires assigning you a diagnosis, which is not usually a part of my standard process.

The main reasons I have chosen not to contract with insurance companies involve: increased risk of the loss of privacy of your health information as a client when dealing with insurance companies; the permanent medical records that are created by insurance companies which can sometimes impact your access to health care, certain jobs, or some kinds of health or life insurance throughout the rest of your life; and the necessity of providing a psychiatric diagnosis for your insurance company’s representatives to determine the ‘medical necessity’ of your therapy. I keep client records that are secure and privileged only to myself, unless specifically requested per written release by an individual who receives therapy and wants to release their records to another party.
